Another good weekend.
Nov. 5th, 2006 07:44 pmKatlin called me Friday to say hi and to plan a little more for the next time we get together. Her mom ordered Cars and we're going to have a party for the two of us when they get it. She also asked me about Mimi's wedding, if I had been invited, but I said no, and don't bother getting Mimi to invite me. I'd be very out of place at a wedding.
Getting together with Alex, Kile (that's how Alex spelled his name on her cell, anyway), and Ashley worked out, but there was some confusion involved. They waited at the library near the Del Oro theatre; I was thinking they were at a smaller library I had seen up past the banks, so Mom and Dad got pissed at me for that. Dad spotted them as I was talking to Alex with his cell phone, and I said, "We're across the intersection! Pontiac!" and Alex waved and smiled.
Once I grouped up with them, we started towards Tribal Weaver, but they had already been there. Saw a large group of delinquent-type kids talking to a couple of policemen. We turned back up and walked past the theatre, conversing and joking along the way. We ended up at The Book Seller and spent most of the time in there. I bought a 2007 calendar with draft / heavy horses and a hummingbird bookmark.
Back outside, we made our way to Salvation Army. I began skipping down a concrete sidewalk and stopped abruptly to look at the moon (two vapor trails created a kind of fish pattern around it, and it was gorgeous), and Alex and Kile nearly ran me over. Good times. Inside Salvation Army, we bought a disturbing present for Erin, because she wasn't able to come and hang out. Giusti couldn't come, either, but Kile and Alex texted them constantly.
Alex's mom, Alicia, picked us up from SA after making a killer sharp turn, and after some discussion between the two of them, we went to The Pet Mine. Alex bought another rat to be a companion for her rat, Nesmie, a hooded female. The new rat, a younger, black female she named Nimh (after The Secret of N.I.M.H., of course), is adorable. Alicia tried to start the car once we were all inside (this included Alex's two younger brothers) and found that it had died. A lady parked next to us let us use her car to jump-start ours, and off we drove to K-Mart.
Alex and I stayed inside the car with Christian for a long time, giggling madly and taking pictures with her camera phone. I told Alex that Michaela worked at K-Mart, though I wasn't sure if she'd be working late. I spotted a vending machine and had the urge to buy a drink, so we got out and discovered a Full Throttle button. Fifty cents short of being able to split the Full Throttle, we ventured inside and found Michaela at her photo booth. Talked to her for a while, got fifty cents from Alicia, fed the money into the vending machine without luck. Went back inside, bought a Full Throttle from an aisle, Alex checked it out as Michaela called me back over. The guy at the cashier Alex was at had a fat hickee (or however the fuck it's spelled) on his neck - I mentioned this to Michaela, and she told me he was also usually stoned and that he 'hits on anything without a penis'. EEEK.
Got the Full Throttle, talked to Michaela a little more, got back in the car. Drove to my house, got the okay to spend the night, gathered some belongings in a backpack and headed off yet again. At the Alta Sierra Market (where Alicia works), we all got slushies. My Lifesaver green apple slushie was one of the most delicious treats I've ever had. At the house, Alex shielded my eyes until we got into her room. All I know of Alex's house is her room and the bathroom across the hall from it. XD They'd told me about this all through the drive.
We watched Flash cartoons, clips from Alex's 'nostalgic' animes, episodes of South Park and That 70's Show, played with Nimh, brought out Spot (the ball python).... And I have now seen Logan, "the angry gay guy," who was going to be at Giusti's Halloween party but couldn't make it.
Okay. Karena, Andrea, and I think Danielle had told me about Logan before: "He's looks just like you, only he's male." After watching some of Erin's CSSSA home videos on Alex's computer, I found this to be precisely true. LOGAN IS MY MALE TWIN. It's pretty damn terrifying. He DOES look just like me. Holy shit. Twilight Zone. I wonder how we would have reacted to each other had he been at Giusti's. In the video, we was getting a lap dance from a fellow CSSSA student. Heh.
I had a hard time falling asleep, but I know I half-slept at least because I had a few odd dreams. Alex and I watched a documentary called Rat Genius today and it was very intriguing. Rats are awesome. We left for my house around 11:40. Mom and I went on a walk with Lupin later on.
Yup, another nice weekend. I hope to drive with Dad again tomorrow.
