Wednesday after class, Aurora and Grace treated me to a late lunch / early dinner at The Roxy. Aurora got me The Mini Hummingbird Feeder (IT'S SO PRECIOUS - I'll put it up when the weather is warmer and the hummers begin frequenting again) and some freaking hilarious sketches of Rant, Paranoid, Chestan and Finch, and Grace got me the deck of Cockney Rhyming Slang Knowledge Cards I'd spotted at Powell's a while back, as well as some chocolates (which had been my Christmas present). Wonderful way to end my Wednesday! I LOVE YOU KIDS AND OWE YOU ARTWOOOOOORK. <333
I've memorized most of the deck of Cockney Rhyming Slang Knowledge Cards. Rant's vernacular is going to be even more fun to toy with thanks to them!
Oh, and Aurora: thanks to you, I think I'm going to have to finalize my "Crumpets, NOT Strumpets!" drawing with Rant. XDDD
Thursday was my Printmaking Theory & Practice class. My teacher, Amy Ruedinger, is so entertaining: she loves sharp objects and toxic chemicals, as she told us herself, and she reminds me of Aunt Debbie and Mrs. Toschi from Bear River. Printmaking is going to be a lot of fun, but also expensive: I spent $75 on supplies that first day. Hoooooo boy. Nonetheless, I've got some concepts drawn in my Utility sketchbook that will be fun to work with.
For my drypoint, I plan on etching one of my own beasties, a hummingbird Grelha. A Grelha (pronounced as it looks, but also as GRAY-yah) is basically a fully avian gryphon.
I brought my maquette of Chagrin home on Thursday as well. Safe and sound back at home! I think I might bake her sometime so she doesn't keep collecting dust and cat hair.
