Forgetful.
Nov. 16th, 2008 06:04 pmI didn't call Kat yesterday, and I completely forgot to get online and talk with Mom and Dad with our webcams.
I've got a scratchy throat again, so I feel it's best I don't use my voice much (Finch feels this way on a daily basis, heh). Bloody mucus and everything, joy.
I plan on attending the Maya help class tomorrow after Creative Writing. I've been working on giving suggestions and crits to my group's papers (although there's been a big focus on Aurora's story, because, frankly, it's the most interesting) off and on today, and also read the assigned chapter from Writing Ficiton. I really like this quote from said chapter:
I hope Brainsick is as meaningful to my friends. :)
Just a quick heads-up... on my forgetfulness. (Mr. Korell once teased me in junior year Psychology by saying, "Well, Jillian, answer me this: how much weed ya smokin'?" when I explained that the main thing I deplored in myself was my forgetfulness.)
Sadly, I don't need to smoke anything to be forgetful. Bwuuh.
There's some new hilarity on the drawing wall in the Student Commons, which I will photograph when I remember to bring my camera to AIPD. I drew a cartoony Rant covered in pigeons ("Gor blimey! I'm covered in pigeons!") and there are some... other drawings that beg for lulz. They're just more drama-oriented.
I can involuntarily make gurgly, raspy noises in my throat like Finch does, thanks to its being sore and scratchy whenever I swallow.
Geez, a vitamin C tablet daily, lots of tea, a limit on sugar (that isn't natural).... That scrumptious, would-give-Rant-an-aneurysm-because-it's-THAT-GOOD apple cider from Whole Foods I had on Thursday probably didn't help....
BUT IT WAS STILL DELICIOUS.

Art is pleasing yourself . . . But you can please yourself and it won't be art. Art is having the mastery to take your experience, whether it's visual or mental, and make meaningful shapes that convey a reality to others. ~ Gail Godwin
