Yesterday's flight home was wonderful. Although my position number was 47 (again, Boarding Group A), Southwest Airlines has not ended its open seating, which meant that I did get a window seat, after all. I'd go freaking nuts if I couldn't look out a window while flying. I love seeing the ground so far below me, the clouds passing by the plane....

Once we had reached 33,000 feet, the clouds formed a landscape of undulating whites, grays, and blues. Few sights are as gorgeous, breathtaking, and awe-inspiring as soaring above the clouds.

Now, if I could go and visit the nebulae, then I'd be living it BIG.

I was greeted by Mom, Dad, and Cammy near the baggage claim area with many hugs, and we then ate lunch at Fresh Choice. Dad wasn't impressed, but I really enjoyed my lunch there. Dad kept obsessing over this lady who didn't know how to drive; she kept pulling in and out of parking spaces, stopped at the curb in front of Fresh Choice, blocking other drivers' passages. Drove Dad crazy.

We were going to go to Bodies Revealed, but we were all rather tired and ready to get home, so we went home. I played with Lupin and Gimpy, got my laptop set up, walked down to the creek with Lupin... just settled back in to my life here.

I want to make my three weeks off productive. Expect TONS of art by the time I get back to Oregon in January (since my scanner is up there). :)

Also, I want to finish the fourth chapter of Brainsick. I need to work on my story again, and I look forward to it.

Today, Dad and I went grocery shopping after picking up Grandma Ruthie's old headboard from a work-from-home paint-stripper guy - and after stopping by Staples for some needed electronics.

I got a 4-port USB hub, and it works beautifully. MUCH-needed device!

But what was even better about Staples is who I saw there: Steffi and Julianna!

I hadn't seen Steffi since the end of freshman year at Colfax. I'd gone to BR afterwards, and she studied in Japan. We saw each other in one of the aisles, and she exclaimed, "Jillian Lambert?!" We hugged and were just so excited to see each other after so long! She told me "Julianna is working today, too!" and I greeted Julianna at one of the registers. It was awesome getting to see them on my first full day back home, and I gave Steffi my cell phone number.

Which reminds me: I need to turn my phone ON. I'm so bad with cell phones. :D

Okay, cell phone on, plugged into wall. Woo!

I now have Office 2007 installed on my laptop. I feel very updated; the design interface of Word 2000 was really bugging me.

Also, I now have a 111GB external hard drive - it had been Cammy's, but he has Dad's 300GB external hard drive now... because Dad bought a new computer altogether. His and Mom's previous computer is now in Cammy's room. Dad's new computer has Windows Vista on it, and he loves it: he's had no problems with it.

Very nice day today. I did, however, wake up with a scratchy throat this morning. I haven't been sick since late September / early October of last year. I keep telling myself, I WILL NOT GET SICK. I refuse to get sick! I just used a little chloraseptic throat spray, but I am not going to get sick. Cammy is getting over a cold or some such thing, and Jessi was very sick with a sore throat and hacking coughs for almost a week before I flew home.

Yet I've managed not to get sick since late last year.... Staying home for a year after high school did wonders for my immune system, it seems. The last time I went to the Molalla River (with Jessi, Maddie, and Mitch, when Jessi's car broke down), I'd had an annoying bout of nasal congestion, but I hadn't coughed or felt sick. The congestion lasted only a couple days, and I'd chased it away with tea and vitamin C tablets.

I. Will. Not. Get. Sick. RAWR!

RAWR! You will not get sick.

Yes, keep your phone on!

And your dad actually likes Vista? Weird, lol.
