One of those random good days.
Oct. 6th, 2006 04:33 amI'm talking to Kat and Tina again. <3 Tina had a dream about me last night in which I went to the prom with Hannibal Lecter.
AWESOME.
And really spooky.
I mean, I once dreamt that Anthony Hopkins was my uncle, but.... Woooooow.
It rained last night and this morning. GORGEOUS skies, beautiful smells all day long. That is, until I saw Lupin get sprayed by a skunk (the first LIVING wild skunk I'd ever seen!). But I spent a lot of time outside taking pictures, hanging around the creek (which is quite a bit deeper now), and generally just enjoying myself a bit.
One thing I love to do is stare at the sun's reflection in our little pond. It's remarkably calming and mesmerizing watching the clouds pass over the perfect circle of the sun on the surface of water.
And the nice thing about today's weather is that it got me thinking about Brainsick. I outlined / redrew some stuff in my sketchbook, and at least that was doing something towards the story. A very small something, but something nonetheless.
SO! I watched the 1943 Phantom of the Opera last night / early this morning, and it was cute. Claude Rains was OLD for his role as the Phantom (in the film, the Phantom - named Erique Claudin - is forty-eight, and Rains was fifty at the time), but I felt as sorry for his plight as I do for all Phantoms. The opera people were EVIL to him! Grawr! He just wanted to play his violin and publish his concerto! His hair was fluffy! ;_____;
AND THEN THERE WAS ACID. Mmmmyup. Thus began his life of madness. Yay! And he killed more people than Gerard Butler did! *grin*
You can tell I'm in a good mood now because I'm being a giddiot (giddy + idiot) over OLD MEN!!1one.
HA.
Excuse me.
The 1943 version is more musical than horror-laden, but it has some nice scenes of spookiness and such. The Phantom's voice is so... SPOOKILY SMOKEY! OH MY GOD! Creepy how to talked to Christine and all.
WAIT A MINUTE. WAIT ONE FARKING MINUTE. Susanna Foster (Christine) was EIGHTEEN in this film? She looked like she was in her thirties! Whooooa man. Tripping out. *checks her birthdate* WHOA. Yup - she was born in 1924. DAMN.
Nyeeeeh. SO ANYWAY YEAH I REALLY LIKE CLAUDE RAINS' VOICE. All smokey and stuff. And he was in Casablanca, too! I need to watch that again. (Poor Peter Guillermo Lorre Ugarte.)
(Hmmm. 'Smoky' and 'smokey' are both correct spellings. Wheee!)
And Fluke is showing early tomorrow morning on a channel with NO commercials! I've got a timer set for it.
