Hot damn, I'm a criminal!
Nov. 11th, 2008 05:22 pmNot really - I got a warning from a TriMet officer yesterday for not having a MAX ticket. I was a dumbass and hadn't felt like feeding a $20 bill into the ticket machine at Gateway; I ended up buying my ticket at 82nd and got about eighteen dollar coins as change.
THEY KNOW WHO I AM NOW. CURSES! TriMet officers have a special scanner used to scan your ID and note your appearance. Another woman was pulled off the MAX for not having a ticket, but she didn't even have ID on her.
Were I caught again without a ticket, I'd have to pay a $115 fine. Ouch. I'm going to purchase a yearly pass so I won't have to bother with change and tickets. I could attach the pass to my keys.
My epic plan to get DEQ and DMV out of the way before my Creative Writing conference was balked because DEQ is not open on Mondays; Aunt Pam hadn't known; she'd have told me otherwise. I did get Grandma Jo and Grandpa Jeff's thank you card mailed, though. :)
At the college, I killed time sketching Big Head and Human Big Head in my Utility sketchbook. One of the vending machines in the Commons ate my seventy-five cents I'd put in for a beef and cheese stick. Talked briefly with Skull.
Aurora showed up shortly after my vending machine incident, followed by Grace. My conference with Julia went well. I hadn't gotten to where I'd wanted with my final draft of my short story (it tells how Chestan, Fieran, and Rant came to rescue Hema, a female rufous hummingbird), but I know where to take it now.
The three of us spotted Hannah on our way to the second floor, where Aurora showed us the beginning of her KICKASS animation with Finch and Anne, set to a verse from "Lump" by the Presidents of the United States of America (that song is SO much fun!).
HEY AURORA: YOU WIN AT LIFE! :D
Eeee, I so love when I can be of inspiration to my friends. <3
With the Animation Mafia assembled, we set off to the Pioneer Courthouse mall and ate delicious Thai food in front of a Weight Watchers on the uppermost floor (we're baaaad). We went into the new Sanrio store and were amused by all the disgustingly cute merchandise... including a Hello Kitty TOASTER. Yes. Hello Kitty toaster.
We stopped by Aurora's apartment for a while, until Grace had to leave for work. Aurora, Hannah and I explored Everyday Music, where I found Camouflage's Voices & Images and a fun album of pieces selected from The X-Files (I love Mark Snow's compositions). Both CDs were bought used and were a pretty nice price. Hannah had to catch the bus once we were out of the store; Aurora and I caught the streetcar, stopped by Safeway, then went back to her apartment.
I ended up staying for around five hours, which I hadn't planned on, but was nonetheless very fun. Aurora brewed some self-ground coffee and that got us perked up in no time flat. I was going to call Kat, but she ended up calling me after waiting for me to call.
Kat, I apologize for not calling back last night. I figure my call back will best be left to a time when I'm by myself. I didn't call Cammy last night, either. Augh.
Got home around 11:20. I'd left a message for Uncle Larry, and I asked Aunt Pam if she'd heard it and she told me she'd woken Uncle Larry up to ask where I was.
I'm on my third listen of Voices & Images. That's today, by the way. German synthpop makes me happy. I was stoked to find Camouflage's album, as they're a bit obscure.
Ah fuck, enough procrastinating.
