FUUUUUUUUUUUCK.
(That's a happy expletive, by the way.)
I'VE GOT THE X-FILES AND HELLBOY ON MY BRAIN.
I watched a trailer for Hellboy II: The Golden Army, and, if absolutely nothing else, it looks like it's going to be another visual masterpiece from Guillermo del Toro.
This thing - a member of the Golden Army? - is STUNNINGLY gorgeous. Creature design for the fucking win!
I adore the first Hellboy movie. <3 I must, must, MUST read Mike Mignola's comics!
I still wish I'd been more enthusiastic about the Pan's Labyrinth sketchbook contest.... Damn. Ah well, past is past.
And The X-Files! SWEET JESUS. I knew that Chris Carter, David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson wanted to do another movie, but now it's definite! It will not follow the mythology (alien conspiracies and such), but will instead be a standalone thriller. I so look forward to it.
And to top off my excitement, my Acer Aspire should be here tomorrow.
Kat and I had another fun sleepover being geeky. We also spent a lot of time outside with Lupin and our neighbors' new puppy, Casey. Casey is SO precious. She has a lot of fun pestering Lupin. If only Lupin could recall her puppyhood rambunctiousness!
Grandma Jo and Grandpa Jeff arrived a day early several hours after Kat's mom dropped her off here, on Friday. Pretty soon now, we're all going to head to the LinQ Buffet for some Easter late lunch / early dinner. I look forward to Chinese food, though Mom insists I should wear my graduation outfit for the occasion. No big deal; it's casual and rather comfortable, and the shoes Mom is making me wear are A THOUSAND TIMES more comfortable than the pieces of crampy crap I wore at graduation.
I am a comfort connoisseur.
Brainsick still has yet to advance significantly, but I've been toying with the thought of developing a third story, alongside the aforementioned and my fantasy novel, Legacy. This one would deal with a couple of my older characters, one of them being Hydramotis. He's a genetic chimera, humanoid-feline-reptile in appearance. I sketched his bust next to an older (May 9, 2007) sketch of him that acts as his redesign.
Another character - or just a monster - would be Invertaur. Invertaur is freakish. I should share him here sometime.
I need to read more fantasy and science fiction.
Wednesday, the last day of winter term, was a rather nice day. Somewhat slow after leaving Figure Construction; I spent four hours in the Commons sharing my Brainsick sketchbook and watching cartoons with my peers. Prior to FC, I shared my sketchbook with my friend David, and he really liked it. Another one of my peers, Tod, was extremely impressed with my sketchbook. He kept saying "Scholarships!"
I DO need to look into scholarships, even if I'm 'tarded enough to be looking for them now. They could still help....
Now, to get dressed for Easter Chinese food! :D

Dear Mr. Del Toro,
I WANT YOUR BRAINCHILDREN.
Sincerely,
Jillian
