Wednesday was rather boring. I forgot to brush my teeth that morning, and I seriously think it affected my mood for the rest of the day. Uninspired, unproductive. Grr! Plus, I'm not fond of Illustrator, and I'm terrible about asking for help with programs I don't understand well. I could use help with Flash, too. SO, this Wednesday, I must ask for help. Our next assignment in Digital Principles is to create an ad, wrapper, or box for a product (cereal, candy, etc.); it can also be a parody of an existing product.

On the streetcar, the alligator lady boarded with Max, her shih tzu. I learned her name: Vicki Sittinghawk. She works for the newspaper Street Roots, which benefits the homeless. As she was searching through her baby carrier (which Max rides in) for a pair of scissors, a couple standing to my left were talking discreetly about her. The guy said, "She's probably looking for her crack pipe." What an asshole.

Thursday was much better. It meant the midterm for Drawing; we were all asked to make large-scale (18" x 24") value drawings with charcoal. I felt quite happy with mine, even though only the bottom of the composition was filled out.

On Friday, I had to turn in a project late for Principles of Visual Communication - my texture as value project. (I'd been under the scatterbrained impression that it was due two weeks from its assignment date. Ha!) During class, I finished the large stippled areas and discussed turning it in late with Hoeckel. She said I could turn it in at the front desk on the first floor. So, from 12:00 to 4:50, I was in the Student Commons finishing this project. I like how it turned out, but GOD my fingers were sore! Inking, inking, inking, inking, cutting with an X-Acto knife, taping, packaging.... Finger pain.

Yesterday, Aunt Pam helped me renovate Draco's outdoor cage. It now has a solid wood bottom instead of the disintegrating cardboard bottom Dad and I originally had for it. We also put a new screen on the inside of the inside of the door; this is for shade and to keep Draco from hurting his nose when he wants to get out (he has a small nick on his nose from where a scale rubbed off entirely).

Thinking about Brainsick daily. Adding bits and pieces to the main text when I can.
