Apr. 22nd, 2007 09:14 pmJason never showed up today. Never called. I'm not angry, just confused. I guess something came up?
I helped Dad move a lot of dirt down in the yard today to fill in the trenches that 2005's flood created. The graded areas look very pretty. Today's weather was gorgeous, too, and the smell of freshly turned earth combined with cloudy skies made me feel so at ease.
Lazy day besides helping move the dirt. Watched Planet Earth with Mom, some AFV, and then Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (the ONLY makeover show I will gladly and willingly watch) with Mom and Dad. It featured a family whose father was injured in the war in 2004 and is now paralyzed from the waist down. Later after he returned home, the family was involved in a car crash in which one of the car's tires came off completely. The younger of the two daughters had to have a kidney removed, but the son... their nine-year-old son was paralyzed from the waist down, just like his father. Dad was going to watch something else, but this family's story really got him, and he said it makes you appreciate what you have, makes you not want to complain about any of the hardships in your life because they are so minimal compared to others' hardships.
I've enjoyed watching that show on Sundays.
I got nothing creative done today, but hopefully Carmen will call us back tomorrow and we can finally get the remaining paperwork sent off. I also look forward to hearing Elizabeth's Plan B on placement testing.
