$950 to $635? YES!
Jul. 17th, 2007 07:28 pmYesterday, I didn't have to leave for AIPD until 11:30, which was nice. I rode with Jessi and Maddie to the Lloyd Center, then we rode the MAX to Portland; from the MAX station, I walked a few blocks to the college. I was nine minutes late, but that's not too bad. Next time we drive to the Lloyd Center, we'll leave around 11:15, to be safe.
Language of Animation & Film was rather slow again, but we watched more early cartoons (mainly Fleischer Brothers 'toons - think Felix the Cat and Betty Boop) and they're fun to watch.
And guess what? Next Monday means a field trip to see Ratatouille! I SO look forward to this... especially now that I know where to get back on the MAX: 10th & Yamhill.
See, Jessi and Maddie had gone back to the Lloyd Center Mall, so I called Jessi about how to get back there. After many calls and confusion, she ended up picking me up, and we went over where to go so I wouldn't get lost again. 10th & Yamhill, 10th & Yamhill.... The Hill of Yams.
Also yesterday, I learned that the supply kit for Media Arts & Animation students was no longer $950, but $635; a $315 difference! Still a lot of money, but much better than $950.
Design Inquiry (Freshman Seminar) was slow again, but we went to the Lawrence Gallery armed with Feldman Models (art critique forms), on a mission to pick a painting and write down notes about it. After discovering, to my delight, the collection of Dali paintings, I chose 1685 Project for Argus. It's a brilliant piece, so bizarre and yet quite different from Dali's typical, widely known style. I have an essay on the painting due next Tuesday, and I want to do well on it.
Today, I bought my supply kit. It weighs - I kid you not - fifty pounds. I won't have to bring it every day, however, which is good. Unfortunately, I couldn't trade out the items I already have. This means I have two pairs of headphones (my noise-cancel headphones I bought with Dad are the better pair); THREE portable hard drives (a total of about 11GB); three t-squares.... Many repeated items, but hey, at least they're backup!
Maddie is watching Weird Al music videos. <3
Now - for ART! Art for homework - it's a wonderful concept, yes?
